Lush gardens, water courts and air wells organically interplay with the elements of volume, light and surface. Our eco-friendly resort is constructed and managed in accordance with EarthCheck international environmental standards. Sensitive site planning, use of local building materials and native landscaping were given paramount importance throughout the design and construction of Soori Bali.
A truly holistic project, this development was designed through a collaborative process which included the study of the local environment and consultation with the neighbouring communities to incorporate not only the site’s climatic parameters, but also age-old social and religious customs. Processional routes were conserved throughout the site, allowing the locals to descend to the beach during religious ceremonies. Traditional irrigation systems of the nearby rice paddies were extended through the site to allow for proper drainage. Following the architecture’s carefully studied forms that promote natural ventilation, planters, low shrubs and taller trees were also positioned to maximise wind flow through villas and common spaces, avoiding the creation of wind barriers.
Soori Bali’s interiors are inspired by local colours, crafts and materials. Walls are clad in paras kelating, a cool grey sandstone manually extracted.
Located on Bali’s south-western coast, Soori Bali is nestled within the picturesque Tabanan Regency, where volcanic mountains loom above verdant rice terraces and striking black-sand beaches.
Soori Bali offers three dining options (Cotta, Ombak and the Reading Room), a full-service Soori Spa, infinity pool, bar, 24-hour gym and library.
